With the increasing requirements for low vibration and maintenance free transmission system, the coaxial magnetic gear (CMG) has become an attractive alternative to the traditional mechanical gear (MG). However, due to the flux leakage, induced eddy current losses and cogging torque, the CMG has some shortcomings such as low efficiency and high vibration.
To solve the aforementioned problems, a polar-anisotropic magnet ring based on a novel 3D skew structure magnetization fixture by metal 3D printing is proposed in this paper. Compared with traditional lamination, such a 3D skew magnetization fixture endows more simplified manufacture and winding. Moreover, the magnetization and anti-vibration ability also could be enhanced by the specially designed 3D tooth shape of the fixture. Therefore, a new CMG which features higher torque transmission and lower vibration is realized in this paper. |
