On March 8, 2011, a Kyoto University delegation, led by Professor Yutaka Yamamoto, visited NCKU to develop joint academic programs which could allow faculty, staff and students from both universities to explore exchange opportunities.
Members of the delegation included:
Toru Sato, Associate Dean, Graduate School of Informatics
Toshiharu Sugie, Professor, Department of Systems Science, Graduate School of Informatics;
Yutaka Yamamoto, Professor, Department of Applied Analysis and Complex Dynamical Systems, Graduate School of Informatics;
Dr. Hideyuki Tanaka, Assistant Professor, Graduate School of Informatics;
Dr. Yutaka Kaneko, Assistant Professor, Graduate School of Informatics.
Professor Yamamoto and Professor Mi-Ching Tsai have developed a long-term partnership back in 2010 when Professor Tsai visited Kyoto University for a symposium entitled ??ymposium on Systems, Control, and Signal Processing?? which was specially organized in celebration of Professor Yamamoto?? 60th birthday.
The purpose of the Kyoto delegation?? visit is particularly aimed at encouraging students from NCKU to study at Kyoto University. Following this event, Kyoto University hopes to further develop academic partnerships with NCKU through establishment of dual PhD degree programs, development of joint research projects and exchange visits of faculty, staff and students.
